‘The Canary Wharf Ice Rink returns for its fifth year with over 200 shops, bars and restaurants in Canary Wharf this year’s Ice Rink offers the perfect day out. The Canary Wharf Ice Rink is an outdoor rink within the unique setting of Canary Wharf with bar/restaurant, official merchandise and opportunities for private tuition’ **

I went to the Canary Wharf Ice Rink last year with some work friends and it was great fun, i would recommend it to anyone. I’m planning on going again this year, but a word of warning, I’m absolutely hopeless when it comes to skating so if you see me keep your distance or prepare for a nasty crash..that’s me in the photo from last year.

The Canary Wharf Ice Rink opens 7 days a week from Saturday 14 November 2009 until Sunday 21 February 2010. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9.45am-11pm and Sunday 9.45am-7.30pm. The last skate session begins 1 hour prior to closing time.

I’ve just spent 2 great nights in the Radission Hotel, Dockalnds, overlooking the O2 on one side and Docklands Canary Wharf on the other. Okay, os it’s not quite December and the ice rink is yet to arrive, but the place is amazingly vibrant, given it’s quite some distance from the heart of the City’s cultural centre. If you’re going to visit London and you’ve done all the attractions before, then this is somehwere a little different to visit.
